A Cottage Style Thanksgiving Table
A Cottage Style Thanksgiving Table. November 7, 2022.
In a couple of days, I will be catching a plane to Victoria B.C. to meet up with my hubby. In the meantime, the plan is to layout the Thanksgiving details before going. It wasn’t difficult as the fall table easily transitioned to the Thanksgiving table. A lot of the same stuff was used, just in a different way. A couple of new things were brought in. The look came together very nicely in the emerging cottage style of Hidden Bluff. Follow me around the table to see.
A Cottage Style Thanksgiving Table
This little guy was a sweet find on a clearance sale for $8. He went right into my cart and home to my office where I coated his bronze feathers with antique gold paint- a product I always keep on hand- and he instantly became the centerpiece of the table.
Cottage style is a mix of old and new, so the basics came out as well. Of course, the Old Country Roses China ensured that gold, sage, and burgundy were the palette for the table. And white linen napkins are always a classic item. The gold candlesticks are there of course. The sage green velvet table runner….
Our turkey also has two new pals, one either side- the gold pheasants. The trio add a pastoral vibe to the table which is perfect for the season.
The golden acorns from the last tablescape stay on the table. They are an adorable decor accessory.
Napkin rings. Do I buy some new ones- those cute turkey rings? I am wavering. And then I spot a pile of gold curtain clips on my sewing table that I had picked up at a sale months ago. I have yet to get around to using them. A sudden thought occurs, and I clip them around the linen napkin. Perfect. And cottage style is about repurposing items in new ways.
Faux burgundy roses that I purchased years ago are still lovely and wrap nicely around the flatware for an artistic presentation.
Since I wanted to jazz up the velvet table runner a bit, I used a lace topper and layered it over the runner. It became charming and cozy at the same time. And a mix of taper candles are used in the candle holders. Mixing and matching and layering is a standard of cottage decor.
Finally, I found one last bunch of fresh baby roses in burgundy at the store- a perfect addition to the table.
Have a beautiful day!
