An Easy and Elegant Easter Table
Using ornate pieces on a rustic, neutral background is quickly becoming a favorite decorating technique of mine. The result is a setting where certain pieces grab your eye and allow for you to focus on them as opposed to a jumble of things that have your eyes moving all over the place. Our Easter table this year features wood, fur, and linen which when paired with a few ornate items helped create an easy and elegant Easter table.
An Easy and Elegant Easter Table
When we moved into Hidden Bluff, we received an older, hand-built Amish table. I could’ve painted it or covered it, but instead we are enjoying its plain, rustic original state. Then a gorgeous fur runner was discovered at Home Goods and that became the start of the Easter table. Fur is a favorite of mine because it is elegant and stylish and goes with so many things. Placing it on top of a wood table added to its appeal and was a wonderful mix of textures.
One of my goals was to work in our wedding China to the Easter table, so that became the palette. Dark pinks and bright greens. Serendipitously, the bright pink tulips planted last fall when we moved in were ready just in time for Easter. I arranged a centerpiece bouquet of tulips, pink snapdragons, some store-bought roses, and lilac foliage which worked beautifully with the Old Country Roses china palette.
Amazon had some lovely regency style charger plates in white and gold. These would set off the china well. And on a wood backdrop it made the place setting look so charming.
Our ornate gold flatware was just the thing to go with the china and chargers, so I pulled that out. Additionally, this lovely moss green striped grosgrain ribbon was an Etsy find that I knew had to be worked into this. I used it to tie the gold flatware together and it paired perfectly with the china.
White linen napkins and vintage water glasses are good staples for a holiday table. And of course, one has to have the cute cabbage dishes and bowl that bring to mind Peter Rabbit. I set the little plates on top of the china dinner plates for another fun contrast.
I have received more compliments on these adorable bunnies that I found at an online business. One of the blessings of the pandemic years has been finding a lot more small business resources online to order from. You just can’t beat the variety of unique items you will find with small online stores.
Hopefully, you found some inspiration for your Easter today! Thanks for stopping by!
Happy Easter decorating!
