Christmas Night at Hidden Bluff 2021

Christmas Day was boxed macaroni and cheese and Die Hard. To provide some context, we were waiting for family to arrive. Unfortunately, they had got caught up in the chaotic vortex of holiday travel that transpired internationally over the weekend. All over the world, it was a mess of cancellations, stranded travelers, omicron, staff shortages, and winter weather. Thirty hours later after leaving Germany, they came pulling in down our snowy cul-de-sac at 1 am where I stayed up to welcome them to Hidden Bluff for the first time. So, the honey baked ham waited, the roses stayed in the bucket, and the presents went unwrapped until Monday. It was so good to see family and celebrate together, even if late. Today, I wanted to show you the pictures of our table from our belated Christmas Night at Hidden Bluff 2021.

Creamy roses were a big element in holiday decor this year as you can see on our Christmas tree from this post. For the table centerpiece, I decided on a cedar garland to go down the middle. Both full and baby creamy roses were arranged throughout the garland along with clusters of Baby’s Breath. Traditional gold candlestick holders are place evenly through the garland. It was very elegant and is now my new favorite Christmas tablescape.

Our family Christmas Lenox china comes out every year for the holiday table. It is a sentimental tradition in honor of a beloved aunt of mine who passed away years ago. Because Christmas should be about traditions because these are what bind us together and keep us going the rest of the year. We do these things to celebrate and keep these memories alive. Our memories become a light that keeps burning within for future generations. My hope is that my own adult kids have learned to treasure family heirlooms, retell stories again and again, and looked forward to recipes passed on such as this Peppermint Pink Fluff dessert. And hopefully, they will establish their own new traditions as they start families. And so, it is with this in mind that we bring out the Christmas china.

A lacy muslin tablecloth and muslin napkins tied with wide satin ribbon are the linens. These are new additions that I recently sewed. Tablecloths and napkins are incredibly easy to sew. If you can’t find what you want in a store then try sewing your linens.

Amish-crafted chairs are adorned with faux green wreaths, affixed with creamy satin ribbon.

The evening ambiance was lovely with the glow of the candles and a fire in the background. We are so much enjoying our comfy living and dining room in this season! Additionally, I find myself enjoying simpler, natural, botanical elements in decor more and more in this home.

Already next Christmas’s decor is filling my mind and how to play further with the roses in holiday decor.
