Spring tiptoes across the landscape. The world senses her presence and responds to her gentle awakening. As her fingertips graze across the land, new green buds begin to form all around on trees and shrubs. Yellow primroses arise from soil that is still ragged from winter’s forces. The miniature blades of the purple crocus poke through, and soon its flowers will open, blooming like a bouquet of sparkling amethysts in the old winter grass. Spring is a gentle season, her soft nature revealed when those first delicate pink and white blossoms open. These sweet bits of her personality cause my heart to well up, and I long to be reunited with my flower friends outside, breathing in their sweet scent while tending to their needs. Soon we will commune all Spring and Summer in the goodness of God’s creation, drinking deeply from nature’s cup of nectar.

As I pulled out my garden planner in anticipation, I realized a plant profile page was needed. A plant profile page is extraordinarily helpful to the gardener who is learning how to care for their flower friends. Because plant care varies widely, a plant profile page is an excellent reference. Of course, one has to create a page for each plant type; however, this likely won’t bother the gardener who has already gone to the effort of using a planner. A plant profile page helps you learn to identify plants, know their watering/light preferences, soil type, and more. These pages can look vastly different, some being very detailed. In keeping with the Free Garden Planner on this site, I have created a user-friendly page for the new gardener.

The page is below. Tap and hold the image, save it to your photos, and print it. To make it fun, I bought some colored pencils and sketched my own flowers. However, a photo printout or cut-out seed label taped on the page will work. This page is also found on the Free Garden Planner page for convenience.
