Homemade Gift Box Ornaments
Homemade Gift Box Ornaments, November 30, 2022.
Going out to shop during the Christmas season has always been such a joy. Interacting with people and finding treasures for loved ones was always meaningful activity for me especially during this season. Admittedly, the last couple of years are a struggle to find that joy when going out. Often, I find myself coming home wishing I hadn’t bothered. It is all the changes in our world that have been hard to stomach and often leave me feeling spiritually seasick. My daily conversations with God often ask for the grace needed to go out and be the light He has called all of us to be. However, I now find myself seeking more joy in home life and sharing it through the medium of writing with others in this season. Many days I am sure the words are going out into thin air, but I still write on, certain of what God called me to.
This year simple, homespun ways to celebrate the season come to mind adding to the character of Hidden Bluff as it takes shape. Today’s post is a humble idea and not new, but sometimes those are the ones that are the best. These little gift boxes were made with quality, cottage core style wrapping paper and silk ribbon giving them a high-quality appeal and look adorable in the tree. I have included some tips to help create them for a better overall look. Small online businesses have been a great source of quality materials used for this project as well as one new start up. Growing up in a family of entrepreneurs, it is a joy to help support other small business owners.

Pick some good-quality wrapping paper and ribbon that match your theme. This paper comes from a new business that offers old fashioned home decor items.
Tape the box shut to help keep things tight, so the lid doesn’t stick out.
Tape the paper on the box.
Wrap the paper tightly around the box and tape shut.
Neatly fold paper shut at each end as shown.
Tape down twice- across and up/down. This helps keep the paper from puffing out.
Tie the ribbon over the thickest part of the box to keep it tight. I found a local, small business supplier of beautiful ribbons like this sage silk ribbon!
And done! Such a sweet little box!
Place on your tree or wherever you wish and enjoy!
Have a beautiful day!
