How to Dry Eucalyptus Naturally
Fresh flowers are one of my favorite things to indulge throughout the year. Of course, the goal at Hidden Bluff is to grow my own cutting garden so I can trim down the floral purchases. Plus, I just love flowers a lot. When it comes to accenting foliage, I will often purchase eucalyptus to help fill out the bouquet. It didn’t take me long to figure out eucalyptus lasts quite a while in a bouquet. It has been one of those bang for the buck purchases. However, I also soon learned I could keep the eucalyptus even longer. If you want to learn how to dry eucalyptus naturally you will be amazed at how easy it is and how attractive it is!
One day I was disposing of an old bouquet and once again noticed the eucalyptus was still in great shape. As dried flowers and foliage are a lovely way to add cottage charm to a home, I decided to try drying the eucalyptus. There was no water used. The eucalyptus was simply put into a basket to see what would happen. Well, the experiment turned out so beautifully that there are now several arrangements of dried eucalyptus in different varieties throughout our home. Quite honestly, I prefer it way more than the dried eucalyptus sold in the local craft stores. Home-dried looks natural and gives a charming flair to our home. And it is so incredibly simple to do!
How to dry eucalyptus
Take your eucalyptus and stick it in a basket and arrange it allowing for airflow between stems and let it dry. Nothing else. No water needed. No anything. It will dry on its own. Easy. I tried this with several varieties of eucalyptus, and it worked beautifully with all of them.
Home-dried eucalyptus looks wonderful styled in those cute, cottage baskets I have loaded up on that are all over the place right now. Sprinkle them throughout the house for a pop of garden green.
Have a beautiful day!
