My Dark Chocolate Raspberry Beauty Smoothie Recipe
It was time for a new smoothie drink. My regular lunchtime smoothie was getting a little boring, so I decided to create a new one. Since one of my New Year’s focus goals is beauty from the inside I decided to come up with a rich, dark chocolate, raspberry beauty smoothie recipe. So, the ingredients chosen are known for being highly beneficial to skin health. Antioxidants, Vitamin C, and collagen are just a few of the skin health building ingredients I was looking for. These are nutrients that promote elasticity, anti-aging, and work in general to keep your skin glowing and healthy. And who doesn’t want that in their skin?
One big benefit of the green smoothie is that it is an easy way to pack in some nutrition during the workday. However, they also need to taste good since the bulk of the ingredients is green stuff. Thankfully, there are a few tricks to making your smoothie not taste like blended spinach and today’s smoothie definitely does not taste green. Furthermore, this dark chocolate raspberry smoothie is a pleasure to drink and packed full of good things. Below are some of the highlighted ingredients:
Featured ingredients:
Almond milk: almonds are an extremely healthy nut and make the list of top foods, so naturally, almond milk is a good choice for a drink base. Almond milk is low calorie and a good source of vitamin E and calcium.
Raspberries: High in fiber and vitamin C, these beautiful berries are also loaded with antioxidants which is a big weapon against aging.
Avocado: This green and smooth fruit is highly nutritious containing Vitamin K, Folate, Vitamin C, Potassium and more. Additionally, they are an excellent source of fiber and antioxidants to help cleanse and rejuvenate the body.
Dark chocolate: Frequent intake of chocolate has been associated with improved mood and BMI. Chocolate is also high in polyphenols, an antioxidant linked to reducing inflammation. And this smoothie has lots of dark cocoa in it!
Super greens: dark greens like spinach are important for fiber they have to help cleanse the body. Spinach, kale and other such greens are also filled with antioxidants that fight against oxidative stress.
Chia seeds: Chia seeds are another superfood to take advantage of. These are high in fiber, antioxidants, Omega-3 fatty acids, calcium and protein. A little goes a long way here!
Collagen powder: This is a new ingredient in my kitchen these days and is an one important for improved skin health and elasticity and additionally, is helpful for joint pain.
Raw Honey: Another good source of antioxidants plus it makes the beauty smoothie taste good!
