New Coffee Table Books for May 2023
New Coffee Table Books for May 2023, May 9, 2023.
One of my favorite idle pleasures is browsing a brand-new coffee table book. Slowly turning those glossy pages filled with romantic bouquets, inviting table spreads and home decor reminiscent of a bygone era is a delicious activity to while away the afternoon. These kinds of books are highly inspirational to the home artist in helping develop their own sense of style. When browsing through them I make mental notes of things I like and may want to create my own version of, often jotting the ideas down on to remember for later. I don’t read them just once either. They are brought out and pored over time and time again for the continued flow of creative ideas. And there are so many beautiful coffee table books out there!
If you haven’t indulged the pleasure of a new coffee table book, may I recommend a few? Three gorgeous new books adorn our coffee table right now, all new (or newish) releases. They cover different elements of the romantic home and are filled with beautiful photos for inspiring your own style. (As a side note, I found all of these books on Amazon.)

French Blooms by Sandra Sigman. Budding floral arrangers will love this how-to book on creating your stunning French-style flower arrangements. Flower gardeners will especially love this book for bringing their own garden in the house. Flower arranging is quickly becoming another hobby of mine as I am designing the Hidden Bluff Garden to be a cutting garden, so this book will be helpful.
The Art of Beautiful Tables put out by Victoria. Any book by Victoria is a beautiful book. And this book is full of tablescape ideas from season to season, mixing and matching, and simple touches using what is around. So, if you are looking for help in sprucing up your tables then I would recommend this book. Victoria never fails to deliver an abundance of inspiration!
The Collected Cottage by Kathryn Crisp Greeley. Although she has been around for a while as a decor artist Kathryn Greely is new on my radar and her lovely cottage home is worth looking at in this big, beautiful book. Her style is darker in color and very traditional in English cottage decor with her vintage collections and dark wood furniture against a pale backdrop. Looking through her book I found it very reminiscent of vintage Victoria magazines, and it was a pleasure to look through.
Have a beautiful day!
