Outdoor Autumn Sitting Corner
One of the things I love about our house is the cozy areas we have. Cozy areas where one can read or dream or have a quiet talk with a friend. Our last house had an open floor plan which is wonderful for large gatherings; however, part of my decor philosophy is the presence of ‘small areas’ in large ones. Hidden Bluff is much better set up for this as it has more “corners” and division of spaces. Our deck is a good example of this as it is a large deck that is lovely for a bigger gathering while off to the side and down a step is a narrow addition to it. For several weeks the far corner of our deck has been calling my name to create an outdoor autumn sitting corner which is what I wanted to share today.
Outdoor Autumn Sitting Corner
The previous owners left us a small white outdoor table and chairs set. These were immediately put into the far deck corner as a decor opportunity started to emerge in the back of my mind. Additionally, blue cushions for the chairs were also left and inspired the rest of the blue and white theme paired with the rusty oranges and vermillion reds of fall.
I sewed two blue and white pillow covers in a jiff. And after that threw on a blue and white throw blanket for the tablecloth.
An old piece of pottery sits on top with dark orange and crimson autumn leaves gathered from our yard.
And last but not least, chinoiserie planters and white pumpkins sit in the corner.
This simple nook took only a half hour to create and is perfect for the autumn season. It is the perfect place to enjoy a glass of wine and the autumn air!
Have a beautiful autumn day!
