Snowy Rose Christmas Tablescape
One of the things I am really enjoying about Hidden Bluff is the ability to indulge in a lighter color palette. It is both soothing and uplifting in the often gray PNW. One of my favorite places to sit at SomeTyme Place was the bay window to capture the little light that did come into our forest home. The sunny Hidden Bluff has creamy walls and plenty of windows, so my cup of joy is full. This light palette inspired the 2021 holiday decor with its creams, whites, and metallics. Birthed from this inspiration is today’s Snowy Rose Christmas Tablescape.
This year I have decided it would be much easier to keep things on a similar track throughout the fall season, so that one holiday flows seamlessly to the next. The creamy hues of Hidden Bluff will reign from Thanksgiving until after Christmas. Certain elements will be reused in a new way as the holiday changes. As for example, the creamy roses will be a main element in the decor this year. They will be on the Thanksgiving table among the oak leaves as well as adorning the Christmas tree.

From the moment we walked in I felt the mellow and broken-in nature of Hidden Bluff. Nothing was brand new. Everything was older. It had wood elements contrasting the light walls that contributed to a cottage feel. Consequently, those characteristics inspired my return to vintage decor. However, this time with a French provincial bent. So, while there are more formal and ornate items there are also natural elements such as baskets and botanicals to soften it. Here on this table snowy fir picks make an excellent “runner” down the table and a base to work from.
Digging through the boxes some silver birds were found and then the crochet bird cages my mom had just given me came to mind. A snowy woodland and bird idea started materializing.
So, 3 of the bird cages were placed on the snowy fir and the silver birds were set here and there. The cream roses would be an excellent addition. Birds are always cheery in decor.
And then silver antique glass ornaments as well as carved wooden candle sticks.
The monochromatic decor is quite elegant and bright.
It wasn’t clear to me how I would use these bird cages, but I am now glad I accepted them. Sometimes, one has to just go in faith when accepting decor items.
Hope you enjoyed the Snowy Rose Tablescape!
Have a beautiful day!
