Tulips in a Swan

Spindly and happy tulips are a welcome site when Spring arrives. This last week I discovered the tulip bulbs I planted in the fall were coming up! Those tulips bulbs were the first things I planted here at Hidden Bluff, and we are eagerly waiting for them! Part of the fun of planting tulips is the exercise in patience and hope for the pretty flowers to come. Papery bulbs are dug into the ground knowing it will be several months before anything emerges. It’s a bit of a wait. However, daydreams of those fluffy, pink tulips kept going and now the visible evidence of life is surfacing. It will be a few weeks before they are ready. In the meantime, store bought tulips are available most of the year, so I bought some to put in my favorite new vintage find. Which brings me to the tulips in a swan…..

A few weeks ago, while strolling in a favorite local vintage shop my eyes fell on this swan. It immediately found its way to my arms as I mentally pictured the pink peonies of Hidden Bluff coming out of its cavity in a graceful cascade over its back. Furthermore, vases are on my hot list right now to hold all the many flowers I intend to grow at Hidden Bluff.  It was a lovely Spring find that fits in beautifully at Hidden Bluff. Tulips, roses, peonies, etc.- this is the perfect vase for spring and summer with its whimsical yet elegant presence.

Statement pieces like this swan are one of the best parts of decorating! Finding a piece that you know rightfully belongs in your home is a victory moment. Decor enthusiasts always enjoy a statement piece that is a reflection of their personal style as this swan vase is for me. Animals have always played a part in my personal style whether in decor, fashion, or more. Everyone has their own unique decor style which is one of the reasons I love to look at decor. Seeing other decorator’s styles is inspiring and fun! And finding pieces that speak to your unique style is what makes your decor special.
