A Homemade Stocking Ornament Tutorial
Make these sweet mini stockings to hang on your tree! Finished stocking is about 7.25 inches long and 3-3.5 inches wide.
Equipment
- Sewing machine
- scissors
- Pins
Materials
- scrap fabric
- stocking pattern *copy image of stocking shown in post and adjust it to fit an 8 x 11 page. Print and cut out.
Instructions
- Print stocking pattern. To do this copy photo image of pattern in post and paste it on an 8.5 x 11 document (0 margins on all sides). Adjust image to completely fit document.
- Cut out pattern.
- Pin on fabric. If you are going to cut multiple layers of fabric at once to make several stockings then it is better to pin pattern to fabric.
- Cut out stocking shape.
- Sew stocking (1/4 inch from edge) keeping right sides together and wrong sides facing out.
- Turn inside out.
- Finish edges with zigzag stitch.
- Tuck in top 1/4 inch and stitch.
- All done!
