Here is a lovely afternoon sipping tea to enjoy! It has a lovely presentation factor, so it is also perfect to give as a homemade gift!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Loose, unflavored black tea
  • 1/4 cup Dried rose petals (food grade)
  • 1/2-1 tsp Rose extract (food grade oil or alcohol-based; not water-based)
  • 1 Vanilla bean

Instructions

  • Combine the black tea, rose petals, rose extract, and seeds from 2 inches of vanilla bean in a quart-sized food bag. (see notes on rose extract below)
  • Shake well.
  • Pour tea blend into container for storage.
  • Take the 2-inch pod you scraped beans from and place in the loose tea. This will allow the tea to absorb more vanilla.
  • Use as you would normally have loose tea.

Notes

*If you like a subtle amount of rose than I recommend using a few drops of extract. A 1/2 tsp. will give you more of a medium rose flavor. And if you like rose as I do than 1 tsp. will give you lots of rose flavor. The strength of your rose extract may vary from mine, so use your best judgment. I enjoy my rose vanilla tea with a couple drops of stevia!
