A Cozy Fall Outdoor Supper
Fall is a lovely time for a cozy fall outdoor supper. Yes, it is necessary to bundle up a bit, even on the nicer days, but it is worth it to soak in the last golden rays of the year before that sling shot to Spring. The crisp air and the nearly naked trees are a sure sign old man winter is around the corner. The seasonal death has its own meaningful beauty to admire. It tends to make people contemplative about life. And why not enjoy that beauty with friend and family? It doesn’t take a lot to put together a cozy fall outdoor supper.

Good scenery is always nice, so I picked this spot out back. Next, I pulled out a tartan wool blanket with a classic fringe for a tablecloth. Nothing says fall like plaid with its back to school vibes. The dishes were a simple white design from Pier 1 that I paired with cool green fringed napkins to add to the rustic look.
Baby white pumpkins sit in the center with eucalyptus sprigs and leaves scattered. The cool green tones of eucalyptus are soothing and one of my favorites in home décor. There were also some remaining white berries growing nearby which I picked and placed among the center. Centerpieces don’t need to be formal. Head out to your yard and see what is available.
A rustic birch candle sits in the middle of course. How could I leave it out?
Local hazelnuts are now in season, so they make a wonderful and edible autumn decoration.
The dinner was a smooth, rich homemade cream of tomato soup with fresh corn. You can get the recipe here. Bring out some good bread and butter and dinner is served!
And wine of course. These stemless wine glasses with inspirational sayings are always fun to put on the table.
It was a very peaceful and idyllic way to enjoy the evening.
Have a beautiful and meaningful week!
