A Sea Glass Themed Tablescape

One of my favorite things about summer is the ocean themed decor. Our local beaches in Oregon are both charming and soothing and provide plenty of decor inspiration. The breezy air, the smell of salt and algae, the quaint towns, and the craggy coastline are all balm to my soul. I especially think of it this crazy year of 2020 and am planning to go visit our coast for at least a couple of days. But in the meantime, if I can’t get to the beach then I will bring the beach here. Yes, here in our mountain home- lol! It doesn’t bother me one tiny bit what people think about that either. I have always resisted being pigeon-holed and don’t expect that to change. Since the first day of summer is around the corner and the rain is finally giving us a break, I created a sea glass themed tablescape for our outdoor dinners.

Like many, I love the color of sea glass. It is just the most soothing color ever. In fact, I think it has finally surpassed my love of pink. The green blue color of the ocean just puts the mind at ease. I may even stuff our next house full of sea glass color. Even now while we are getting our house ready to sell, I am mentally decorating our next living room in airy beach decor with plenty of sea glass. But today I want to share ideas for a sea glass themed tablescape.

Sea Glass Themed Tablescape: How I Got the Look

Our freshly painted white wood picnic table helped inspire this since white and sea glass are a perfect combo with their coastal flair. I paired these gorgeous sea glass chargers with our simple white dishes. White dishes are such a good basic to have on hand.

Silver coral napkins rings with crisp white napkins that are simply rolled for elegance are set on top of the dishes. Another sale purchase from Pier 1 (sadly closing).

This is the first time I have purchased colored wine glasses, but who could pass up sea glass color wine glasses on clearance? They worked beautifully here.

Sea glass vases are easy to find and I filled one with white shells keeping a vase with water in the center. I then filled the vase with long grass and daisies which are abundant at our coast.

Large clam shells from Ireland were ordered last year and were worth the purchase. The size and quality of these shells make them a staple in decor. For this table I put tealights in two of them for ambiance. You can find these on Amazon here.

And lastly, these new sea glass floats completed the look. They are from Birchlane and are a new purchase. The quality and look of them is wonderful. Of course, they went on the table.

Have a sunny day!
