Blushing Rose Sangria for Autumn

blushing rose sangria

Today’s beautiful Blushing Rose Sangria recipe is another simple and flavorful recipe for easy, yet impressive entertaining. Recently, we had an impromptu dinner party of four with my husband and I and two dear friends of many years. We have not seen them in a few months because of the quarantine, distance, and schedules. We decided to have a spur of the moment outdoor dinner. It was such a delightful and peaceful evening that we all felt refreshed for. COVID had affected us each differently and it was just mutually beneficial to share our experiences and opinions among non-judgmental companionship.

For the dinner I pulled out this favorite meal because it is actually easy to pull off. Additionally, some of it can be prepared ahead of time which made it simple to put out after a workday. The sangria was a last-minute inspiration that resulted in a gorgeous rosy pink and deliciously fruity sangria. It looks impressive and festive sitting on the table in a clear glass pitcher showing its fruity layers of red, orange and pink. Go ahead and use cheap rose wine for this one because fruit and sweet is the point of this drink. Do not use an expensive rose and have its flavors drowned out by fruit.

What fruits are in this sangria

Nectarines are one of my favorite fruits and they are in season right now. Tangy, sweet nectarines pair with so many other fruits which makes them very versatile in cooking. In this rosy pink sangria, I paired them with red plums and large red raspberries. The fruit arrangement alone was gorgeous, and the flavor is awesome! This sangria also gets better and fruitier and rosier the longer it sits. I like to serve it same day, but overnight it tastes yummy as well.

One last tip, there is a lot of fruit which you may have left, but do not throw it out. Maximize this recipe and use the fruit left to make a rosy, wine-infused fruity dessert such as a crisp, cobbler, or chilled fruit soup.
