My Favorite Coffee Recipe
Being a total coffee addict from the tender age of 16, I have enjoyed coffee many different ways. By the time I was married I was a full-fledged coffee snob. In fact, my husband and I had a big disagreement the first year we were married about coffee. He bought a very large can of Folger’s because he insisted it was the same. Because my husband had never been into coffee until we met I scoffed at him. Newbie! He now laughs at that story because that can stayed full. Even he didn’t want it! These days we are on the same page with our love of Peet’s coffee. Mostly, my coffee is prepared the same with a little sugar and cream; however, today I want to share my favorite coffee recipe with you all. It is an easy variation on the everyday coffee. Today is National Coffee Day, so it is the perfect occasion to make this.
It is always fun to try a new kind of coffee or coffee in the fashion of another culture. For example, Asian coffee, Turkish coffee, Italian Cappuccinos, and the list goes on. As far as everyday coffee goes Peet’s Coffee is our go to. But sometimes I like to dress it up and this easy way is just the thing. Years ago, someone introduced me to a very creamy and sweet coffee that I fell in love with right away. People I made it for loved it as well. Of course, I tinkered with the recipe a bit and added spices for a creamy, sweet, and spicy coffee. It is perfect for an afternoon coffee while having a quiet moment alone. My favorite coffee recipe is also easy as you will see.
Favorite Coffee Recipe
The only special equipment you might need for this recipe is a mini mixer. However, if you do not have one the coffee is still just as delicious. The mini mixer just helps create foam and gives your coffee a latte effect. You are also welcome to use different spices or none at all. I like the cinnamon cardamom blend for a subtle, spicy kick.
Makes one coffee
2 full tbsps. of heavy whipping cream
2.5 tsps. packed brown sugar
Pinch of cinnamon
Pinch of cardamom
8 oz. of strong coffee
This recipe can be reduced or easily adjusted to preference.
Make strong coffee and set aside. In a mug add 2.5 packed tsps. of brown sugar and 2 tbsps. of heavy whipping cream. Combine and heat in microwave for 30 sec. or until cream starts to bubble. Remove from microwave and using the mini mixer blend the whipping cream until frothy. Pour in coffee and top with a pinch of cinnamon and cardamom. Enjoy!
