Fudgy Brownies with Fluffy Peanut Butter Frosting

These chewy brownies are based on a classic recipe and topped with a thick layer of fluffy peanut butter frosting and sprinkled with chopped chocolate chips for an amazing treat!

Ingredients
  

Fudgy Brownies (adapted from Hershey's)

  • 1 cup melted butter
  • 2 cups white sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 tsps. vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup baking cocoa (either light or dark)
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

Fluffy Peanut Butter Frosting

  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • 1 cup butter (room temperature)
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 3 tsps. vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 cup chopped chocolate chips
  • Note: adjust frosting recipe proportionately if you want less frosting

Instructions
 

Fudgy Brownies

  • Combine butter, sugar, vanilla, and eggs.
  • Stir in cocoa powder.
  • Add the remaining ingredients and stir until combined.
  • Pour batter into a greased 9 x 13 baking pan.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick in center comes out clean with moist crumbs.

Fluffy Peanut Butter Frosting

  • Using stand mixer whip butter and peanut butter until well-combined.
  • Add powder sugar, vanilla, and milk and whip frosting on high until fluffy (about 5 minutes).
  • Frost cooled brownies as desired (you may not use all of frosting).
  • Top brownies with chopped chocolate chips.
