A Charming Forest Bouquet
Every year at this time in the forest the ferns go wild with new growth. It is with great reluctance that I weed them because they are so pretty. However, when they are growing several feet tall within a couple of days and pop up all over the yard everywhere including the lawn then something has to be done. The invasive ferns have a lacy chartreuse design that makes them pretty to look at. These are not the only types of ferns. Other ferns that aren’t quite so prolific produce charming fiddleheads before they unfold and mature. I enjoy using both types of ferns in bouquets like this charming forest bouquet I have in our living room this week.
When arranging flowers, I use what is available as I don’t have access to unlimited flowers. I love looking at floral artists and seeing their gorgeous works of art for ideas, but I find my own style more rustic and simpler. This charming forest bouquet is no exception as it has only snapdragons and ferns. I love the pairing because it was so whimsical, especially with the fiddleheads sprinkled throughout. The bouquet actually has two types of ferns. Pink and green is my favorite color combination, so I used only a few blush and white snapdragons for this arrangement.
How to create your own charming forest bouquet
To make this arrangement I used fern fronds and fiddleheads. One of the ferns is quite elaborate in structure, so I pull off individual fronds to use as the background. Next, I put in the snapdragons. After this, I put a few fiddleheads throughout the snapdragon to finish the look. Sweet and simple!
Have a beautiful day!
