Christmas at Hidden Bluff 2023
“I must have flowers, always, and always.”
Claude Monet
Christmas at Hidden Bluff 2023. December 20, 2023.
Last Christmas an idea began that grew throughout 2023. And that idea was floral tree that would reflect the atmosphere and decor at Hidden Bluff. If you read last year’s post here than you know the story of how the original floral Christmas tree here came about. So, over the next year of lot of time was spent thinking about how to create that look this year. This tree was going a completely different direction from the standard Christmas tree, and I knew it would take a decent amount of decor preparation. Furthermore, it takes a good bit of time to patiently shop for this many faux flowers. Even then I was working on it pretty much till the last week of Christmas!

And how did I get so many faux flowers without breaking the bank? Careful shopping. The vintage hydrangeas came from this place and the mauve rose buds came from here. Creamy white rose clusters can be found here as well. It was a slow process to shop and collect flowers for this tree.
One important, non-floral find this year that tied everything together well was this gorgeous dusty rose toile ribbon. Quality ribbons are one of my favorite things to collect and this was a must for the tree! This dusty rose toile ribbon is available here. Another non-floral item was the candles. Of course, real ones aren’t going to work, but good faux light up candles are widely available, and they make a tree look so old-fashioned and traditional! Those were found here.
I knew ivy needed to factor into this look this year, so ivy picks were picked up. Faux ivy tucked in various spots give the tree an old garden look.
In the rest of the living room, I invested in these faux woodland cedar garlands, and they are wonderful! They look real and no needles! I purchased those here. For the fireplace I layered garlands using Command cord bundlers to hold up the garland. And this old mirror sets it off well with its patina, and it is my favorite piece. I love it with the arrangement of roses, cedar and toile ribbon.
My swan came out for Christmas, and I love it! It had been banished it to my office for the season, however, when I saw other decorators taking theirs out, I joined in. Faux cedar and roses look beautiful in it and complement the rest of the decor.
Have a beautiful Christmas!
Thank you for stopping by to take a look at our Christmas tree! Have a blessed week and remember Jesus is the reason for the season!
