Frozen Blackberry Lime Margarita
Margaritas are something we have a lot when summer rolls around. This is probably because we all love lime a lot. Lime is present in much of Asian cooking and we enjoy lime wedges in our water, club soda, beer, etc. In fact, we keep a lot of limes in the fridge because we use them that often. Our kids have made jokes about the big bags of limes I get at Costco. Anyway, margaritas really are the perfect summer drink with that crisp lime taste. They are easy to make and can be served on the rocks or frozen. We generally have them frozen. Lately, I have been trying to upgrade our margarita to add some pizzazz. Additionally, blackberries are plentiful during the summer, so today I am bringing you a frozen blackberry lime margarita recipe from my kitchen.
These frozen blackberry lime margaritas are something I envision making for our annual 4th of July BBQ, especially if it’s hot. First of all, these play into the color theme for the fourth with their dark blueish-purple hue. Second, blackberry and lime are always a good pairing because blackberries are also tart but sweet as well. They are wonderfully thick and slushy, so they stay cold for a while. People generally like margaritas as well because they are predictable, and it is hard to ruin one. These margaritas are also very refreshing with the sweet tart flavor. And if you like, swap out another fruit like blueberry or strawberries. This isn’t rocket science- experiment! Anyway, I hope you enjoy today’s recipe!
