This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine….

Homemade Gift Tags with Meaning, December 6, 2022.
Daily my heart weeps for the young people in our world. The current culture they are growing up in is full of despair and it is no surprise that there is a mental health crisis in the younger population. Hearing teenagers talk about not wanting to bring kids into this world or who don’t see the point to life anymore are not things I ever thought I would hear or deal with. So many of our young have lost hope. My husband and I have always had a soft spot for kids, and when we moved to Hidden Bluff, we were determined to use this home to help kids and young adults. Well, God honored that desire and has been bringing them to us.

And as we are blessed with so many nieces and nephews in our lives, we like to do all we can to encourage them. While wrapping presents for our nieces an idea came to me of a small way to speak encouraging words into their lives with this homemade gift tags. I found these pretty, little frames at the craft store. They were only a couple of dollars. An idea came and I scooped. up eight of them. Back at home I created a small print for each of them which contained their name, its meaning, and a positive verse or saying to go with it. I also added some clip art and then printed them off on cardstock. The result was better than hoped for. My hope is for them to feel blessed and special in some small way.
And really, the possibilities are endless with these little frames and personalizing them. Maybe a verse. Or a poem. Perhaps a recipe. They looked so cute attached to a gift. These have stands on the back, but some velvet ribbon glued on the back would be cute as well. Sometimes the most meaningful is in the simple. And these are extremely inexpensive to make. Likely I will head back to the craft store with my coupon and grab more frames….
Have a blessed and beautiful day!
