The Perfect Holiday Drink: the Poinsettia
Have you pulled out your Christmas decor yet? Are you one of those who has the house all decked out Clark Griswold style the day after Thanksgiving? Or maybe you still need to look in the attic to find the decorations? Either way, I hope the holiday spirit is taking hold for you. I know it is for us because we have a big houseful of family to look forward to this year. We love house guests and we love parties at the holidays, so our extra moments are spent planning. Of course, we need to have a couple of festive drinks which brings me to today’s post on the perfect holiday drink: The Poinsettia.
Look no further for the perfect holiday drink because the Poinsettia is a classic drink that is sparkling, pretty, festive, easy, and yummy all in one recipe. It is so easy that you can just eyeball it when making. It also only uses 3 simple ingredients. Just imagine serving this sparkling Christmas-themed. It just doesn’t get much better than this. This drink is delicious like Peach Prosecco only easier to make.
I definitely recommend serving this drink in tall champagne glasses as it looks elegant. Additionally, put a couple of frozen cranberries in each drink. And that’s all there is. It’s that simple. And simple is good right now- right? Put these out on a drink table with a dish of red and gold ornaments and gold accessories for additional elegance. Easy elegance is my favorite way to do things 🙂 The recipe is down below, so keep reading.
The Poinsettia
Champagne
Cranberry Juice
Sweet orange liqueur (I used Harlequin for this)
Note: No need to measure ingredients; just eyeball it.
In each glass fill about 1/3 full with cranberry juice. Next, fill with champagne. Lastly, add a splash of orange liqueur (about a tablespoon).
Perfectly elegant!
