Rose French 75 Cocktail, June 13, 2023.

Sunday was spent tending the roses. After church I headed out with my basket and snipping shears to tend the young darlings and make sure they are thriving. The sun was warm on my head while carefully looking over each rose bush and analyzing its growth and enjoying myself tremendously doing so. Our garden is a great source of stress reduction for me. When life gets to be too much it is a place of refuge and little upward prayers. Everyone should have a hobby that promotes stress reduction. This is especially important as you get older, and your body is more affected by increased cortisol levels. The garden is a great place for this.

The garden is also a great source of creative inspiration that has been growing and growing since we moved here. And the current rosy vibes of summer at Hidden Bluff today inspired a rosy French 75 cocktail. Lately, I have been experimenting with a lovely new rose gin found locally: Hendrick’s Flora Adora gin. It is now a favorite of mine. This rose-infused, smooth gin is lovely for rose cocktail lovers! It worked beautifully when I crafted this rose cocktail. The prosecco lightened up the drink, so the rose isn’t overpowering if this is a concern. And it is a very pretty, sparkling clear pink for drinking! Rose French 75 Cocktail

Makes 1 cocktail.

.5 oz of fresh lemon juice

1 oz of rose gin (I used Hendrick’s Flora Adora)

2 oz of chilled pink prosecco (Costco brand is what I used)

2 tsps. of rose syrup ( I purchased this on Amazon, but any rose simple syrup should work)

Combine in glass and serve. Garnish with fresh, organic rose petals if desired.
