The Poinsettia Cocktail

The Poinsettia Cocktail. December 5, 2019.
Have you pulled out your Christmas decor yet? Are you one of those who has the house all decked out, Clark Griswold style, the day after Thanksgiving? Or maybe you still need to look in the attic to find the decorations? Either way, I hope the holiday spirit is taking hold for you. I know it is for us because we have a big house full of family to look forward to this year. We love hosting house guests and holiday parties, so our extra moments are spent planning. Of course, we need to have a couple of festive drinks, which brings me to today’s post on the perfect holiday drink: The Poinsettia.

Look no further for the perfect holiday drink: the Poinsettia cocktail is a classic holiday drink that is sparkling, pretty, festive, easy, and delicious all in one recipe. I got this recipe years ago at a restaurant I worked for, and it is so easy that you can just eyeball it when making one. It also only uses 3 simple ingredients. Just imagine serving this sparkling Christmas-themed drink. It just doesn’t get much better than this. This drink is delicious, like Peach Prosecco, only easier to make.

I recommend serving this drink in tall champagne glasses for an elegant presentation. Additionally, put a couple of frozen cranberries in each drink. And that’s all there is. It’s that simple. And simple is good right now- right. Easy elegance is my preferred approach to entertaining. The recipe is down below, so keep reading.

Ingredients
- Champagne
- Cranberry Juice
- Sweet orange liqueur (I used Harlequin for this)
Instructions
- For each glass, fill about 1/3 full of cranberry juice. No need to measure ingredients; just eyeball it. ).
- Fill the rest of the glass with champagne, leaving a bit of room at the top.
- Lastly, add a splash of orange liqueur (about a tablespoon).
Notes
Perfectly elegant
