Golden Dreams Christmas Table

Fanciful, color-filled dreams of Christmas are ripening as we moved closer and closer to its arrival. The anticipation of Christmas brings great joy and wonder to many. But for it to be a meaningful joy we need to embrace the reason we celebrate. And Christmas should be a celebration for a king. But not just any king, but the King of Kings who was born to us to save us from our sins. It is fitting that this day should be filled with childlike wonder as we honor the babe in the manger- the same wonder as that of the shepherds and wisemen.

I try to keep a sense of wonder in our Christmas decor to emphasize the importance of the day. The name of today’s tablescape is “Golden Dreams Christmas Table”. It was created with thoughts of gold, sparkle, and a bit of nutcracker flair fit for a celebration. Golden tulle, fairy lights, large baroque ornaments, old fashioned candlesticks and wide brocade ribbon were used for this table. It is a whimsically fun arrangement using what I had around. Below are some arranging tips for you to create your own tablescape.

Tips for arranging:

• Use assorted brass or gold candlesticks for more authenticity.
• Fluff your tulle in a dryer. Just put it in for a few minutes and it is ready to arrange.
• Use a soft hand when arranging as opposed to forcing it. Allow natural imperfections.
• To arrange ribbon easily let it fall off the roll. It naturally spirals and you can work this easily on your tablescape.
• Fairy lights are a great investment and add charm to a table. Tuck them under the tulle.

When I find beautiful ribbon, I like to save it on a spool to keep its shape. You can see in the picture below how the ribbon naturally makes large spirals when. it falls off the spool. I purchased this ribbon a couple of years ago and brought out for this table.

I will forever be glad for buying gold flatware because it goes with so many things, Not to mention it is perfect for holidays!
